You are not alone. Binge eating is extremely common and can occur at any stage in one's life.
Binge eating is not caused by a lack of willpower, and changing your diet or becoming stricter with yourself will not help.
Binge eating may result from a number of factors, including, but not limited to:
1. Physically restricting, such as undereating, restricting calories, or excluding certain food groups
2. Being psychologically restrictive, e.g., "That is BAD, I cannot have it"
3. In response to unhelpful thoughts, feelings, or beliefs, such as "I'm a failure"
This hypnosis recording was created to help you overcome the common triggers to binge eating and reframe how you feel about food and yourself. The mind learns by repitition, which makes hypnosis an incredibly supportive tool in the recovery of disordered eating. Whilst in hypnosis our subconscious mind is listening to affirmative messages to recondition how we think and feel about ourselves and our relationship with food.
It is a relaxed state of mind in which the subconscious can come forward to accept positive ideas and suggestions. The natural state of hypnosis occurs at times throughout the day.
Have you ever completed a journey by car without having a clear memory of it? Have you ever read the same page in a book several times but not realized what it is about? In these moments, our mind is in a trance-like state.
Getting hypnotised doesn't have a specific 'feeling', and everyone experiences it differently. You might feel as if your arms and legs are especially heavy, almost like lead. You might also feel very light, almost weightless. Others seem to be sound asleep when they are actually fully aware and their senses are more alert than usual. Try hypnosis, it's completely safe! That's the best way to understand how it feels.
This is a very commonly asked question from those considering hypnotherapy (thanks mainly to stage hypnotists) but I can assure you that this will not happen.
The truth is that whilst under hypnosis you never lose control and are aware of what is happening throughout. You will never find yourself accepting suggestions are that are not in alignment with your own personal beliefs or values
Can you guarantee results?
We are all unique and respond differently. As with any therapeutic intervention, no guarantees can be made that hypnosis will work for you, in the same way it does for someone else.
For optimal benefit, however, I do recommend:
Ideally, use headphones to minimise noise disuption and ensure that you won't be disturbed. This particular audio is 20 minutes long.
Many clients like to listen to the audio at night beofre they fall asleep and then listen to it again upon waking.
Don't worry if you fall asleep during the audio as your subconscious mind is still open and receptive.
Do not listen to the audio whilst driving or operating machinery.
After 21 days, review your progress and consider whether you need to continue listening. I suggest that you still continue to listen to the audio intermitteintly beyond 21 days.
